Randy Zhu is a high school student from Long Island, New York. He loves math, science Olympiad, and computer science, and regularly participates in competitions and club activities. He recently found a lot of fun from participating at the USA AI Olympiad (USAAIO) and was awarded DHR in 2026 USAAIO Round 1 and then qualified for Camper status in 2026 USAAIO Round 2. To his surprise, the participation of USAAIO directly contributed to the breakthrough needed for the development of EasyLPR, which he has been spending two years to work on along with his sister, an alumnus of MIT. Besides STEM areas, Randy enjoys organizing local scholastic chess tournament and teaching elementary students how to code. He also finds passions in chess, origami, cubing, and tennis. When schoolwork is not overbearing, he plays Minecraft and Microsoft flight simulator.
